When you become a fashion blogger, the goal is to become an affiliate with your favorite brands. These companies will check your blog to make sure that the potential pair would make a great couple. There was one particular company that really evaluated my blog long and hard before they welcomed me to their family. Of course this was torture for a super motivated and kind of impatient person like myself. However, finally, my Chicwish came true!
Chicwish, is an online retailer known for their trendy and chic styles–literally any woman could find their style represented here. When I first checked out the site, I immediately had an online shopping cart full of goodies.
Here is one of my favorites–the flare check dress. This dress has girly girl written all over it. It’s flirty, classic, and makes a bold statement. When I wear this dress, I get a ton of compliments left and right. So in love!
Below you’ll notice that I’ve taken this look and simply layered outerwear to change the mood from sweet girly girl, to a bit of a rebel. The possibilities are endless…

This week I’ve introduced you to an up and coming stylist named Lauren Williams, owner of the new line, Elle Lain. Like I mentioned before, Lauren has always had an eye for fashion–and I know this because I used to literally drool over her outfits during our common Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader days. Now that she has launched her own personal clothing line–guess who has been waiting anxiously first in line? Yep! That would be me!
The look of Elle Lain is a whole lot of classic, a little bohemian, and even a bit of street–which pretty much sums up my favorite looks. Her little bit of street is reflected by her fabulous denim line.
When I say denim is the new art, I mean this literally. Lauren has reinvented the wheel, and is using recycled/vintage denim as her canvas. Lauren purchases vintage denim from the Salvation Army, hand paints and distresses them–creating a one of a kind, can’t buy this anywhere, kind of look. The woman is brilliant! In the past I have splashed painted denim with white paint, but never did I think to actually create art using painted strokes. Genius!
The funny thing is that the day before Lauren’s launch party, I purchased a pair of vintage cutoff shorts from a Goodwill store. Lauren gave me a quick tutorial on how to distress like a pro, so I’m currently working on my very own pair. I now completely understand why distressed denim is so expensive–it’s very time consuming and strategic!
Lauren also hopes to join forces with the Salvation Army, and is giving back a percentage of the denim purchases. So if you purchase from her Richardson, Texas location, or her upcoming online store; you will not only help yourself to a cool and unique look, but you will also help someone in need. Love it!
You go Lauren!
For my Dallas locals, don’t forget to shop Elle Lain in Richardson, Texas at Dallas’ number
gift shop, Beaucoup. Also follow Elle Lain on Twitter and Instagram @shopellelain.
So how did the challenge go this past week? Hoping it went well for you! Personally, I’m feeling more positive and energized! This week we will be implementing two more simple elements–smiling and sending yourself motivational emails.
Your first new challenge will be to simply smile more. Smiling is contagious, and this simple facial exercise can have such a powerful impact on your day, as well as others that are around you. As a middle school teacher, I find that this tactic sets the mood with my students and spreads positivity.
Next, I want you to be conscious of your negative thoughts. Before you go to bed, think about the negative moments or thoughts you had throughout the day, and simply flip that into something positive. Once you have your positive advice, email it to yourself so you can be reminded and motivated the next morning.
On the last blog I revealed my latest obsession, a buffalo plaid dress set that is guaranteed to be an instant show stopper. As promised, I’m going to show you how to turn a two piece set into multiple outfits.
This week I wanted to show my followers how to turn a two piece set into multiples. If you’re like me, you can’t afford to simply shop til you drop; you have to find ways to make your wardrobe stretch.
I recently purchased this beauty from my latest addiction, Chicwish. I’m obsessed with this retailer, and I’ve truly fallen in love with their unique, yet affordable pieces. This pink buffalo plaid set comes with a crop top and a super flirty high wasted skirt. I worried about quality of the fabric at first, however, I was immediately impressed with the material.
This month, as we transition from summer to fall here in Dallas, I will be featuring my plaid, gingham, and checkered pieces–a look most may categorize as strictly summer. But if you’re a bit of a risk taker like me, okay, and on a budget; you’ll find that these pieces can serve as both transitional pieces for the fall, and a money saving tactic for your bank account.
Check in later this week, or keep up with my blog by subscribing to sashaagent.com to find out how I took today’s crop top, and turned it into two more totally different looks!
