Sigh… Adult Life
Last week was kind of rough for me you guys. I signed up for a certification test that is now required of all teachers in the district I teach in, and realized that the date I signed up for was this past Friday. “Okay, whatever, I thought… I’ll just do an emergency cram session and get this done.” So I started studying all week–I’m talkin’ flash cards, practice tests, and more practice tests! I actually prepared myself pretty well and began to feel pretty confident Thursday night.
Well, on the morning of the test, I drove out to Downtown Dallas (already a stressful), found parking (another stressful process), and made way up to the 12th floor in the Plaza of the Americas (another rather stressful process). I get out my identification and testing ticket for the test checker in person, and suddenly we had a problem. Apparently there is a rule that your ID must be the EXACT same way that it is on your testing ticket. You see, with my last set of tests, I forgot I was still Sasha Agent, and hadn’t even met my husband. On my driver’s license my name is hyphenated.
Well, long story short, I couldn’t even take the test and had to forfeit $130 bucks! UGHHH!!!! This still makes me want to punch something! Ha! I mean, how can they just take your money like this?! If you didn’t use their product, you should be able to get a refund, credit, or somethin’ right?! As if teachers are really in the position to just throw money away! Anyhow, once I got home, I was pretty upset, but realized that my 3-year-old and 2 month old can’t comprehend why I’m so upset, and I did promise we’d do something fun at least once a week.
The Butterfly Garden
The hubs and I agreed that we would head out to the butterfly garden–Downtown Dallas (eye roll), so the girls could enjoy all of the colorful butterflies. And I don’t know if you follow my Instagram Stories or Snapchat (@snafierce), but I documented our time at the garden, and we had a blast! If you have little ones and have a butterfly garden near you, I seriously recommend it as a way for the kiddos to have fun, and as a stress reliever for you and your adult life.
What We Wore
The Butterfly Look
As for my look–I call it my butterfly tee, but really it’s called the Capa Fluttered V-Neck Tunic from Anthropologie. This beauty is available in black, pink and white–and if I could, I’d get one in ever single color. Super stretchy and lightweight–this top gives a new meaning to the word comfort. My sweet girls are clearly twinning–ha! They are wearing off the shoulder bodysuits and shorts from Zara Kids.
Well, I’m out 130 bucks from my “not taken test,” but I’m definitely not dwelling too much. There are far too many beautiful things to enjoy in this world like family, butterflies and cute clothes. : )
Enjoy your Fourth of July tomorrow!
