Hey everyone! We are officially back from our vacation, and boy are we spent! Traveling (road tripping) and vacationing with a 2 month old and toddler is tough work. And I swear, if it wasn’t for my oldest daughter Sisi, the husband and I would be a hot mess! We decided to head out to Galveston, Texas (the (more…)
Happy Monday everyone! We are literally on our way to Galveston, Texas for a quick little getaway, and boy did I procrastinate. Maybe it’s this whole breastfeeding, mom of three, trying to be a full-time blogger thing? Ha! Yeah, I’m back to stretching myself thin again–but I guarantee this won’t be the case once I (more…)
This summer we have really had no choice but to just kick back and relax. With Jaelyn being our little late spring baby, we wanted to make sure that we kept things simple by staying at home. Although I lovehangin’ at home (I’m definitely a homebody), I’ve been dying to get out of the house–probably because I suffered from cabin fever during my maternity leave. But now that I’m alive again (LOL) and have my (more…)
This summer, I’m all about being comfortable, cool, and practical. Maybe it’s the latest addition to our family (baby Jaelyn), or maybe it’s the whole mom of three thing–either way, thank goodness for the maxi dress right? These dresses are super flattering and perfect for my life right now. As I try to get through this transitional postpartum period, I’m finding that the longer dresses are the perfect answer for me. It’s not that I’m trying to hide my new found curves–okay, maybe a little… ha! But really, it’s more like I’m trying to make them a little less noticeable. The maxi dress totally helps with toning things down.
Maximizing the Maxi
Today’s featured maxi is another SheIn find (see my latest SheIn posts here and here). It’s a beautiful sundress perfect for the summer, and perfect for your typical casual day. This past weekend, the family and I spent the morning with grandparents, the afternoon grocery shopping, and finished off with an evening stroll–all in this summer dress.

Taytem: “Mommy, your tummy is still a little bit big!” Me: Thanks Tay… (Sigh). Maybe my moms out there can relate to this… you know that feeling after you have your baby–you just don’t feel like you. In fact, pregnancy looked a bit more like you than this current you. The positives? Well, you can breathe again, instant heartburn relief, and maybe you can even see your toes! The negatives? This new body of yours is smaller, but also distorted. During postpartum, your body continues to change, and what fit you one week, won’t necessarily fit you the next. Even if you were given the pass from your doctor to workout (after the 6-8 weeks) you’re too sleep deprived and tired to even think of such a thing.
During this postpartum transition, I try to wear pieces that won’t break the bank–especially because I know my body will change. Oh and did I mention the whole breastfeeding thing? Since I’m breastfeeding, my chest is huge–and for me, this is not a good thing. I’m the type of gal who is totally good with being a B cup. Transitioning from a B to a D is quite alarming when you’re used to being a small size–especially because these new assets suddenly change how everything fits you!
SheIn to the Rescue
Now that I’m looking for transitional clothes (preferably dresses because they’re easy) I want to find pieces that are affordable since I won’t be wearing them too long–well, I hope so at least. Today’s dress is a beautiful summer ready piece–super lightweight and flowy. This off the shoulder/hi-low dress also has an adjustable belt tie making it very easy to adapt to your changing body. Check out more from SheIn here! I promise you’ll fall in love with their summer pieces and amazing prices.
And how cute is Tay’s adorable off the shoulder dress? The same transition rule applies to toddlers as well, which is why I love affordable clothes for my kids too! See below for her adorable dress!
Well, we will see what my body looks like next week! Hey maybe I can actually get a pair of my old jeans on? I highly doubt that though–ha!
