Motherhood| Pink bomber jacketWhy Didn’t Anyone Tell Me?!

Okay, so here I was thinking that I’ve been experiencing the typical life as a mom of two, but I was absolutely wrong! After day two in the hospital, things got real–and when it rains, it pours right? Day two in the hospital was a bit brutal. The pain and recovery after a c-section is already rough in itself, however, both of my girls had school, which was great, plus I figured they’d be better off continuing their normal activities. My mom was also wonderful with keeping them overnight so we didn’t have this crazy family of five setting’ up shop in a hospital room. Over the weekend, however, was when things got real. First, my oldest had to get ready for a dance competition we had been anticipating for months. There are certain things that only mothers know how to handle, so I had to find a way to get her hair and makeup done before the big show. Luckily, IKids fashion | Motherhood  had her teammate’s mom to help with more makeup details. While I was getting her makeup together, I picked up on something different from my three year old, Taytem. She seemed louder than usual, whiny, irritable, and just down right cray cray! In the midst of the stress, I sort of overlooked it and continued on with getting my oldest ready.
Motherhood| Pink bomber jacket| Kids fashionThe next morning we had another obstacle; recital pictures at Taytem’s dance studio. My
hubby picked Tay up from my moms’ house and brought her to me for hair and makeup. Not only were things crazy, but Taytem was for sure acting differently again. She was singing really loud, not listening, and again–just a mess! Haha! My question is, why didn’t anyone tell me about this transition? I didn’t realize the jealousy thing kicked in pretty much immediately.  I assumed there would be some type of honeymoon period at least. Also since we’ve been home, it’s been even worse.

Motherhood| Pink bomber jacketPrior to Jaelyn’s birth, I took Tay out to shoot her in a dress that was way over due for blog pics. I think I’ll forever cherish these photos, knowing it was the last time we captured our last moment as life before her little sis.

The Perfect Bomber

This week I’m all about this pink blush colored bomber jacket from SheIn. I’ve been looking for the perfect spring lightweight jacket–preferably a bomber, to wear casually around town. What I love about this bomber is that it’s very well made and it is the perfect shade of pink–still a neutral. I managed to squeeze my 39 week pregnant self into a basic SheIn tank dress with both sneakers and blush heels–and yes, I immediately removed the heels after the shoot. As you can see, Tay and I were all about the street style look this week. She sported her black hand made tulle dress from the amazing bumpNbeyond via Etsy with Converse high top sneakers.

So, if you’re a first time mama and thinking about having another little one in the future, let me be the one to tell you that having two little ones, even as far as three years apart, will be adventurous–but of course, not impossible. Just be prepared for things to change a bit, but eventually, for the better in the long run. As for me and baby Jae, we’ll be catching up on our beauty sleep and prepare for our first adventures together!

Thank you all for the prayers and well wishes!

Anxiously Waiting: A New April the Giraffe and April Showers

A New April the Giraffe | Blogger Sasha AgentThe New April

A friend of mine keeps checking in asking if we have a new baby yet. She made me crack up when she mentioned that I was like the new April the giraffe–ha, which is exactly how I feel!

As of today, I am officially 39 weeks! As of last Wednesday, I’ve had three rounds of false labor (not fun), and the energy of a slug. This is the first time I’ve actually made it to full term (39 weeks), so it’s kind of strange knowing that I will most likely walk into the hospital tomorrow for a scheduled appointment to have a baby! And although that was always the plan, for all of my girls, early labor always seemed to beat my due date to the punch.

The Crazy Homestretch

This entire last month of pregnancy has been a bit crazy. Contractions pretty much started A New April the Giraffe | Blogger Sasha Agentaround 34 weeks triggered by any type of normal walking during my day-to-day routines. For the entire month of April, I’ve been on edge thinking, “Any day now!” Of course now that I expected to go early, I ended up hanging on until the very end.
My goal this month was to make it to my baby shower and Easter. I especially wanted to give my girls one last calm Easter before the true chaos begins. I’m anxious to meet my new baby girl, but also embracing each remaining day as a family of four. Thankfully, I made it past both occasions. My beautiful mom and beautiful friends threw me an over the top baby shower.A New April the Giraffe | Blogger Sasha Agent Here I was thinking I’d have a little sprinkle, and instead I was surprised with a chic and glammed up party. It was fantastic, and can’t believe all of the support and love I have from family and friends.

What I Wore

For my shower and Easter, I wore a nude embellished maternity dress from the ASOSmaternity lines. I fell in love with a nude and jeweled up number at first sight. In fact, I’m wanting to even keep it for after the baby, but I’m pretty sure I won’t have the bust to fill it out–ha!
Timing was also on my side with the launch of Target’s Sugarfix by BaubleBar launch. BaubleBar is one of my favorite online accessory brands–they’re always up to date on the latest trends. Rather than having to go to a busy mall or spend extra money online, you can literally make a run for your normal Target goods… toilet paper, lotion, and stunning high-end earrings! With my low energy right now, one stop shopping is a must!

Well, wish me luck friends! The next post I have planned will be all about the newest member of the Marrier family!  I can’t wait to meet her!

Is 38 Weeks the Magic Number?

My past two pregnancies both lasted until around 38 weeks, so I’m pretty amazed that I’m still rollin’–literally! Ha! This pregnancy for sure has been a beat down. And I feel horrible complaining, because I know there are women out there that have really struggled through their pregnancies. With me, I just haven’t had any energy, and since I’m so used to making things happen like, teach full-time, raise busy kids, and run a fashion blog; it was really hard for me to understand this whole fatigue thing. Well it turns out I have a pretty good reason as to why this pregnancy is sucking the life out of me. Apparently I was born with a blood disorder that has made me anemic my entire life–pregnant or not. Up until this pregnancy, I’ve been coping with it very well, so much in fact that I didn’t know my red blood cells were any different from anyone else’s. Anyhow, I’m not sure why the fatigue symptoms are Color of the Season | Sasha Agent | Fashion Blogextra enhanced with this pregnancy. I’ve always had low energy with my girls, but never to the point to where I couldn’t  get anything done… yeah, no nesting over here. I literally fall asleep folding laundry–so I’m sure you can just imagine my baby preparation. My hematologist and OBGYN doctor have explained that there’s a real possibility that I may need a blood transfusion with my c-section, which really freaks me out, but I’m trying to keep a positive mindset about it–trying (sigh).

The Color of the Season

I’m so thankful that I made it to Easter! It would’ve been pretty cool to have an Easter baby, but I can imagine that would also spoil future birthday party plans–I’ve always felt for holiday babies. Also, I got to spend Easter one last time with my family as a party of four instead of five. To celebrate this glorious day, I wore my favorite color for the spring season… white! Apparently we’re supposed to pack up our white gear from Labor Day up until Easter, well, I don’t know who you take your fashion advice from, but I’m pretty sure the people who made up these random rules at the start of the 1900s would even say, “It’s 2017 people; wear whatever you want!” Ha! So honestly, I never really put this color away to begin with, but if you’re more of a fashion rule follower, go ahead and whip out the white!

Tassel Earrings | Sasha Agent Fashion BlogIn Love!

I’m absolutely in love with this dress via my fave, SheIn, and I’ll be even more in love with it once my body returns to normal –hopefully it goes back to normal! White, with bell sleeves and a gorgeous pop of red floral embroidery to make a stunning statement. This beautiful number was a SheIn find–less than 20 dollars in fact! Styling this piece doesn’t take much. Red tassel earrings and summery sandals will do the trick! I found these Oscar de la Renta lookalikes via Etsy shop, BeadStyleShop, click here for my exact earrings. This look can easily be achieved for less than 60 bucks if you play your cards right! Take a look at my pics below for inspiration–remember, this is not a maternity piece, so I plan to wear this beauty even after pregnancy.

Well, until next time my friends… I’m hoping I last at least one more week just so I can get some last minute things done at work and home, but if not, keep a look out for the newest member of our sweet family soon!

The Homestretch: Meet Ingrid and Isabel Maternity

Blogger Sasha Agent | Maternity Clothing

The Homestretch

At last! I’m approaching the last stretch of my pregnancy, but I must admit this last trimester is testing my fashion game. At this point I really couldn’t care less about what I wear. I prefer leggings Blogger Sasha Agent | Maternity Clothingand t-shirts to anything else right now. However, an online maternity store by the name of Ingrid and Isabel recently reached out and introduced me to their irresistible and chic line for pregnant women and moms going through the postpartum stage.  When I pulled up their website and saw how chic and gorgeous everything was, I had to try out their looks!

Three Beautiful Maternity Looks

So, I tried out 3 different looks… My first look was a bohemian white off the shoulder midi dress. Also available in pink, black and blue, this dress is super comfortable, lightweight, and made with quality. My next piece is another off the shoulder get up, but it’s a top. This top’s  beautiful embroidered details and light fabric makes dressing up or dressing down any OOTD super easy. Finally, for a more formal look–like my baby shower coming up, I’m wearing a pink lace boatneck Blogger Sasha Agent | Maternity Clothingdress  (super stretchy and surprisingly very comfortable). Take a look at the Ingrid and Isabel website; I promise you’ll be tempted to load up your online shopping cart with beautifully made clothing.

More Than Maternity Clothes

My favorite thing about this line I that they make their pieces for your pregnancy, but also for the postpartum months. This makes me feel so much better about spending money on maternity clothes–which I hate because it’s such a  temporary time period. However, with these looks, I can continue to wear my clothes even after my pregnancy, and at the same time, I’ll still be fabulous and on trend!

Check out Ingrid and Isabel for yourself for their modern and chic apparel for expecting mamas! Also, check them out on their social channels–

Pregnancy Brain and How to Rock a DIY Maternity Shoot

DIY Maternity PhotosDIY Maternity Photos

Pregnancy Brain

So when you’re pregnant with your third child and EXTREMELY tired, you tend to drop the ball on your maternity to do list.  For example, weekly or even monthly belly pictures–yeah I dropped that ball like week 7–only 2 weeks after I found out I was pregnant, ha! I thought it would be cool to see weekly progress, but I couldn’t even maintain enough momentum to take a monthly stomach selfie. The next thing I forgot about was creating a pregnancy journal/baby book. I guess part of it could be documented on the blog, but yeah, I don’t think that’s happening until my maternity leave. Oh and finally, people started asking me about a baby shower. Oh right! I forgot about that too! You would think that we would’ve saved a thing or two from our sweet little Tay, but nope! That would require thinking or planning ahead. I’m honestly hoping that I even make it to my party date. And finally, DIY Maternity Photosmaternity pictures. At first I came up with an excuse… “Oh we don’t need pics this go around, plus I’ve got a few blog shots.” But then the guilt set in, and I imagined this poor child wondering where her glorious belly shots were. I can just imagine having to explain years from now that mommy was really tired and anemic–I’m sure she would totally understand that. Ha!

Last Minute Shopping

So, here we are! We managed to pull something together super last minute. I’m talkin’ I went to Target the night before, and found the family something to wear. As far as my dress, which is not a maternity dress by the way, I got it from Forever 21 a few weeks prior and planned to wear it for another blog post. Next, we needed a location. We chose the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve, the same as my last maternity pics. This timeDIY Maternity Photos we decided to capture the beautiful sunset. I spaced on the whole professional photographer thing, so we had to improvise a bit. My oldest daughter Sisi and the hubs took turns taking pictures, stepping in and out of the photos–it was pretty hilarious. Finally, for a family picture, my husband had no shame in interrupting some poor guy’s rigorous cardio routine for a quick photo shoot, LOL! He has zero shame! If you live in the Dallas area, this nature preserve is a beautiful spot for hiking, picnicking, and walking your dogs.

Anyhow, no fancy camera was needed here. Good lighting, a cooperative family, and some good editing apps. Check out my list below to see what all we used to make this last minute maternity DIY photo shoot happen.

Thanks for stopping by my friends!
