This mama is feeling a lot better. With both of my pregnancies, my nausea, food aversions and low energy was long gone by the second trimester. However, with this pregnancy, I haven’t been so lucky. Even over the Christmas break, I was dealing with morning sickness, food aversions, super low energy, headaches and a horrible toothache! Recently, my energy seems to be creeping back up, I’m not being super picky on what to eat, nausea may only come in waves a couple of times a week, and I finally fixed my tooth problem which has also helped reduce the headaches. Finally, things are looking promising!
Not Trading in the Chic
So I’m pretty much feeling like a seasoned vet when it comes to this whole pregnancy thing. However, this time around, especially now that I’m blogging, I’m learning that style doesn’t have to be compromised. With that being said, you would think comfort would then have to be sacrificed, but that’s not the case either.
Like I explained before on my last maternity post, I am obsessed with Pink Blush and love how they incorporate the current chic trends for women, yet still take comfort into account. Today’s Pink Blush find is a chic olive dress (see the non-maternity version here) with a ruched/gathered side to either dress up your bump, or just add a little bit of pizzazz. This dress comes in multiple colors for multiple seasons, and best of all, it’s soooooo comfortable, soft and stretchy. This dress looks amazing alone or layered with an accent piece.
How I Wore It
Take a look at my looks below for inspiration. I’ve paired this chic look with an oversized faux style vest, over the knee boots (my defaults this season) and dramatic chandelier earrings. This dress is also just as stunning by itself! Remember… Pink Blush is not only all about the pregnant mamas, they’re really just about making women feel beautiful. They’ve got something for everyone, so check them out! I will also be hosting a Pink Blush $75 gift card giveaway today around noon, so be on standby via Instagram for the launch of that contest (@snafierce)!
To be honest, my first lace up piece was kind of a disaster. You see, after going through two pregnancies, plus breastfeeding for a year with both girls, I’ve actually been pretty self-conscious about showing any skin in that area. Over my Christmas break, I blogged about finding a one stop shop for show stopping dresses. For some reason I felt compelled to try out a front lace up dress. I couldn’t resist just how stunning it was, and just hoped that the lace didn’t run too low. Once I tried it on, I was so happy I took a chance. Just like I hoped, the lace didn’t run low, so I didn’t have to worry about being self-conscious–especially because I could still get away with wearing a supportive bra.
How to Rock the Lace Up Dress
Today’s Tobi dress, the ‘Better Off Lace Up Shift Dress,’ is that perfect date night, or dinner dress if a girl wants to stand out of the crowd a bit. It comes in three colors, a mauve–which is what I have featured here today, but it also comes in classic black, and a beautiful olive green. As far as shoes, you have tons of options. A strappy or even simple heel would really make this dress pop, but lately I can’t get enough of my over the knee tan boots which not only look amazing with almost everything, but they also keep my legs warm in the cold.
Tobi, All About the Glam
Last week I introduced an online retailer by the name of Tobi to my blog. From the moment you click on their site, you’ll see that this brand has glamour written all over them! With each piece, I find something very unique. Like stated on my last Tobi post, their designs take place in the heart of Los Angeles. They take inspiration from the LA city life, and channel them into beautiful and affordable clothing. “We design and develop all of our products and collections out of our headquarters in downtown Los Angeles. Our design inspiration is LA itself; the girls, the city, the energy, the attitude.” (Tobi.com).
See the link at the top of this post for this beautiful lace up find! Wishing you all a beautiful and stress free weekend!
We all know that wearing what you feel is all the rage. Yes, graphic tees are super popular, but I’ve started to notice that it’s hard to make a statement that is original and not redundant. We’ve all seen the, “But first, coffee” or “Fry Day” tees, but these sayings can be a bit overdone, so it’s nice to finally find a company that specializes in original quotes and sayings.
Meet Thread Tank
I recently came across a company by the name of Thread Tank, “The Stories You Can Wear.” This company recently reached out and introduced me to their amazing line of graphic tees for both women and men. I was immediately sold by their catchy and clever sayings as soon as I began scrolling their site. I personally fell in love with
everything mom related, mainly because I’m currently carrying around my twenty-four hour mom cargo (baby bump) ha! I selected their adorable “Mama Bear” and “Papa Bear” tees for my husband and I. I thought this would allow for really cute maternity pics. I also chose their “Mom Game Strong” tee. This shirt just spoke to me because I highly respect the moms out there who are constantly multitasking, wearing many hats, and living their dreams–all while balancing mom life. These women are my inspiration.
Check out today’s pictures as well as the Thread Tank website or Instagram profile for inspiration. These tees would make a great Christmas gift for yourself, or even a loved one. Be sure to follow me today on my Instagram account… I’ll be hosting a giveaway where three lucky winners will be chosen to select a tee of their choice! That’s right, not one, but THREE lucky winners!
Enjoy the rest of your week friends, and don’t forget to wear what you feel!
Now, I must admit–sometimes I find the cutest maternity clothes, and naturally I’m like, “They never had cute stuff like this when I was pregnant.” Well, now that I’m pregnant, I find myself oohing and ahhing over the non-maternity section like, “I want this, this, and this!” I know, I know… The grass is always greener on the other side, right?
So anyhow, I’ve got this philosophy… maternity clothes seem to be pricier than normal clothes, and you only get to wear them for such a short period of time. My goal this year is to dress my bump with the essentials (via ASOS Maternity like jeans, work pants, a coat–things that are going to inevitably EXPAND no matter what. However, I want to try buying pieces that I can still wear and put to use even after my bump. I don’t know, I guess it’s the frugal side of me. I seriously HATE wasting money.
Today’s Bump Look
Today’s sweater is a Chicwish piece. I love how unique their clothes are; they’re for sure one of my faves. This knit piece has two cool features, the cold shoulder cut outs and the front tie. For some reason, I often tie shirts around my waist–I think I’m just drawn to an added layer of clothing. With this sweater, there’s no need to add a bulky layer of clothing–it already comes complete with a tie.
Below I’m linking pieces that can fly for both a growing bump, or just for the sake of it!
Happy Monday and wishing you all a happy Thanksgiving week!
Clothes with a military edge have been a go for quite sometime. In fact, I have a cargo jacket that I’ve had since 2006 that I just can’t seem to replace–it’s still in great condition, and it’s been in style every fall and winter since then.
I love that the patch game is dominating, and SheIn, my favorite affordable online retailer is incorporating military edge in a softer fashion. Today’s piece is a knit cardigan with military inspired patches. With this chic sweater, you can really play up, or play down your outfit of the day.
How I Wore It
I wore this piece in four ways! As for the first way, I paired a black pencil skirt, a grey t-shirt, classic black pumps–all layered with today’s cardigan. For a comfy yet still chic option, you can change out your pumps for white sneakers. Next, I wore this same look, except for this time, I wore high-waisted black distressed denim–first with my classic pumps, and then with my white sneakers.
Check out more from SheIn below–I’m sharing all of my favorite military chic styles. Be sure to check out the entire SheIn collection by clicking here!
Well ladies, I think it’s time to switch to military time! Ha! Wishing you all an awesome week!
