Festival Season is Here!

Ugh… this picture makes me so jealous of my old body. The one thing that inspires me to drop my pregnancy weight are clothes! And I’m so ready to wear my old faves! With the return of spring comes the return of festival season. Festival or not, I love the bohemian, and light looks of spring.

The Homestretch: Meet Ingrid and Isabel Maternity

The Homestretch

At last! I’m approaching the last stretch of my pregnancy, but I must admit this last trimester is testing my fashion game. At this point I really couldn’t care less about what I wear. I prefer leggings Blogger Sasha Agent | Maternity Clothingand t-shirts to anything else right now. However, an online maternity store by the name of Ingrid and Isabel recently reached out and introduced me to their irresistible and chic line for pregnant women and moms going through the postpartum stage.  When I pulled up their website and saw how chic and gorgeous everything was, I had to try out their looks!

Three Beautiful Maternity Looks

So, I tried out 3 different looks… My first look was a bohemian white off the shoulder midi dress. Also available in pink, black and blue, this dress is super comfortable, lightweight, and made with quality. My next piece is another off the shoulder get up, but it’s a top. This top’s  beautiful embroidered details and light fabric makes dressing up or dressing down any OOTD super easy. Finally, for a more formal look–like my baby shower coming up, I’m wearing a pink lace boatneck Blogger Sasha Agent | Maternity Clothingdress  (super stretchy and surprisingly very comfortable). Take a look at the Ingrid and Isabel website; I promise you’ll be tempted to load up your online shopping cart with beautifully made clothing.

More Than Maternity Clothes

My favorite thing about this line I that they make their pieces for your pregnancy, but also for the postpartum months. This makes me feel so much better about spending money on maternity clothes–which I hate because it’s such a  temporary time period. However, with these looks, I can continue to wear my clothes even after my pregnancy, and at the same time, I’ll still be fabulous and on trend!

Check out Ingrid and Isabel for yourself for their modern and chic apparel for expecting mamas! Also, check them out on their social channels–

Pregnancy Brain and How to Rock a DIY Maternity Shoot

Pregnancy Brain

So when you’re pregnant with your third child and EXTREMELY tired, you tend to drop the ball on your maternity to do list.  For example, weekly or even monthly belly pictures–yeah I dropped that ball like week 7–only 2 weeks after I found out I was pregnant, ha! I thought it would be cool to see weekly progress, but I couldn’t even maintain enough momentum to take a monthly stomach selfie. The next thing I forgot about was creating a pregnancy journal/baby book. I guess part of it could be documented on the blog, but yeah, I don’t think that’s happening until my maternity leave. Oh and finally, people started asking me about a baby shower. Oh right! I forgot about that too! You would think that we would’ve saved a thing or two from our sweet little Tay, but nope! That would require thinking or planning ahead. I’m honestly hoping that I even make it to my party date. And finally, DIY Maternity Photosmaternity pictures. At first I came up with an excuse… “Oh we don’t need pics this go around, plus I’ve got a few blog shots.” But then the guilt set in, and I imagined this poor child wondering where her glorious belly shots were. I can just imagine having to explain years from now that mommy was really tired and anemic–I’m sure she would totally understand that. Ha!

Last Minute Shopping

So, here we are! We managed to pull something together super last minute. I’m talkin’ I went to Target the night before, and found the family something to wear. As far as my dress, which is not a maternity dress by the way, I got it from Forever 21 a few weeks prior and planned to wear it for another blog post. Next, we needed a location. We chose the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve, the same as my last maternity pics. This timeDIY Maternity Photos we decided to capture the beautiful sunset. I spaced on the whole professional photographer thing, so we had to improvise a bit. My oldest daughter Sisi and the hubs took turns taking pictures, stepping in and out of the photos–it was pretty hilarious. Finally, for a family picture, my husband had no shame in interrupting some poor guy’s rigorous cardio routine for a quick photo shoot, LOL! He has zero shame! If you live in the Dallas area, this nature preserve is a beautiful spot for hiking, picnicking, and walking your dogs.

Anyhow, no fancy camera was needed here. Good lighting, a cooperative family, and some good editing apps. Check out my list below to see what all we used to make this last minute maternity DIY photo shoot happen.

Thanks for stopping by my friends!

Spring Must Have: Florals on Denim

Bring on the Color!

As the spring quickly approaches, my wardrobe also seems to be blossoming. I naturally start filtering out the dull colors within my closet, and replace them with more vibrancy. Adding florals to your wardrobe is one of the easiest ways to incorporate color into your life. They seem to just go hand in hand with the spring season,  and when you mix your florals with unconventional looks like denim–you honestly can’t go wrong.

Pops of Florals

With this pregnancy, I know I’ve mentioned in previous posts that my energy is extremely low, so along with that low energy, comes the need for dressing comfortably. Today’s featured piece is a denim jacket with embroidered roses. This jacket is perfect for dressing up or down your outfit of the day. If I had the energy, I’d probably show you all multiple ways to wear this jacket–if I could fit into a cute white maxi sundress with gladiator sandals, I totally would, but I’m kind of limited with spacing at the time. Maybe after the summer (fingers crossed). Today, I wore this jacket casually with a subtle touch of street fashion. The best way for me to get around is in tennis, so I simply paired it with black distressed Blogger Sasha Agent Spring Florals | Denim Jacketdenim and my original Adidas.

Major Deal

You may be shocked to find that this jacket is only $30 bucks from my fave, SheIn! The rose embroidery is what really makes this jacket unique and perfect for the upcoming spring season–which is literally around the corner.  SheIn’s entire spring line up is looking pretty tempting right now, so be sure to check out their daily updates! They constantly update their site with the latest trends and looks of the season!

Enjoy the rest of your beautiful week!

31 Weeks and Feeling…

Okay my friends, number one, let me just apologize for the lack of posts. I know I’m down to a post a week, but Lord knows the struggle is real right now. This Anemia is kicking my butt–so as of lately, I’ve been prioritizing my rest over the blog and Instagram. Baby, however, seems to be doing just fine! I’ve got around 8 1/2 more weeks to go, which is crazy, because it seems like I just announced that I was even pregnant! I’ve put on about 35 lbs, and my lack of energy is not really helping with the whole gaining weight issue either. I’m averaging about 5-6 lbs per month–and I still have a couple more to go {Sigh}.  In the end, I’m just hoping I’ll have the energy to drop the weight over the summer, because this mama can’t wait to get into old clothes–this in fact, is my true motivation to lose weight.

Color Blocking and Illusions

Speaking of clothes, I’m still trying to rock non-maternity pieces, however, I’m not goingBlogger Sasha Agent color blocking  to lie–I’m definitely having to strategically select my tops to make sure that they’re extra long so they cover my belly. Today’s top is a super chic and glamorous off the shoulder top. Even though it’s a one piece, it gives off the illusion of having a layered crop top look which creates a beautiful color blocking statement. I sized up to a large to compensate for my growing bust (which I’m so over right now)–if that helps for size, ha!

I recently posted a SheIn wishlist for the spring, and I’m so jealous of all of the spring and summery dresses I’m missing out on. Did I mention that I’m so ready to have my body back? Ha! 8 1/2 more weeks!

Hoping to keep the momentum on the blog! But as always, thanks for the support and for stopping by my friends!

Done and Done!

Well, kind of… Okay so her room is still a work in progress, but are they ever really done? With my current energy level of negative 100 right now, I just haven’t had the energy to help my husband with projects like usual. And although we did make great progress, we still have some overall cosmetic touch ups to make like, new baseboards, crown molding, popcorn ceiling removal, ceiling fan replacement, new doors, curtains–you know, just a few minor things (sigh). Check out the video below for Sisi’s big birthday reveal, and for before pictures! Happy birthday to my beautiful girl! Click here for my previous post on Sisi’s big room makeover.
